An area in south East Cheshire, population of about 5,500, in 1914 very much less. For this purpose Rode Hall was a Red Cross convalescence hospital. There is still a soldiers seat in Rode Heath, though a new version, a memorial garden - though untidy - and there was a St. Dunstan's field in Rode Heath. A clerk to the hall was shot at dawn and 38 men from Odd Rode were lost with perhaps 1 more from the Hall Hospital.
