John Osborn Walford's headstone.In the modern extension to the churchyard of St Mary the Virgin, Hanbury, Worcestershire. The inscription was apparently illegible earlier in this century, there's a recent plaque affixed to the stone.

Captain JO Walford's gravestone at Hanbury ChurchThis is a photograph on Captain Walford's gravestone when first discovered in 2010. The only lettering was the 'rd' of Walford in the top right corner and 'Fe' of February bottom left. A similar shaped stone of his brother Robert Walford is nearby which lead to us clearing the moss to find this lettering. Had he taken his life six month's earlier, he would have been entitled to a war grave and on-going maintenance by the CWGC.Contributed by:
