HMS REDBREASTOn 15th July 1917 she was torpedoed and sunk by UC-38 in the Aegean Sea while on passage from Skros to the Doro Channel. Forty two members of the crew were killed including Frank Horrocks whose body was not recovered for burial and he is now commemorated on the Plymouth Naval Memorial.

Assistant Paymaster RNR - 1916Royal Naval Reserve and Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve officers were distinguished from those of the regular Royal Navy by variations in their rank stripes. When the war began, officers of both organizations wore stripes of quarter-inch gold braid. Those of the RNR were in intersecting waved pairs, and the RNVR in single waved lines. Colored branch distinctions were in straight quarter-inch lines.Contributed by:
