Bandsman Bayley went out to Canada during 1911 and enlisted at London, Ontario in 1915, coming over with the 110th to England in 1916. When in St Annes he was a scholar at Heyhouses School, was connected with the Parish Church and for some years was a chorister. His last leave at home was in January last. In his last letter home he hoped to be on leave again in early November. Had he come through safely, his plans were prepared for taking up fruit farming in Canada.
